Word for Word

The release of the third edition of the Roman Missal gives us an incredible opportunity to help young people and their families hear the Mass with new ears and pray the Mass with new hearts. Word for Word will help you do just that!

In this resource, you will find a four-part series introducing and explaining the new Roman Missal. The four sessions within the series are:

• Everything Changes. This session examines how we deal with change and reminds us of the constancy of an unchanging God.
• Words, Words, and The Word. This session looks at the importance of words in our culture and compares our words to the power of the Word of God, Jesus Christ.
• New Words, Same Mass. This session ties together the first two sessions and unpacks the specifics of the new Roman Missal and what will be changing in the Mass.
• MASSive Transformation. This final session empowers the young people and parents to fully, consciously, and actively participate in the celebration of Mass.

These four unique sessions are developed for three different audiences. There is a separate series for high school teenagers, middle school youth, and parents. While the topics remain the same, each series is written specifically for the needs of that demographic.

Word for Word can be used as whole community catechesis, a Life Night or Edge Night mini series, or as a weekend retreat.
